

From 20-22 June 2010, Michael O’Sullivan, Director of Cambridge Overseas Trust (COT) visited Belgrade to discuss cooperation with the PEXIM Foundation and meet students who were accepted by the University of Cambridge to start their studies in October 2010.
During his visit, Mr. O’Sullivan had a chance to meet with Mr. Vuk Jeremic, Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Government of Serbia, himself a Cambridge graduate, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports, Snezana Klasnja, representatives of the Young Talents Fund, as well as Ms. Sonja Licht, President of the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence (BFPE), to discuss BFPE’s projects aimed at addressing Serbia’s brain drain problem. Mr. O’Sullivan also briefly encountered with Mr. Zarko Obradovic, Minister of Education, and visited Mathematics High School in Belgrade as the institution where most of the Serbian Cambridge students come from.
In honour of Mr. O’Sullivan’s visit and to support the efforts of PEXIM Foundation, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Serbia, Stephen Wordsworth, hosted a reception at his residence on June 21. The reception was a networking event which gathered the representatives of British Embassy and British Council, members of the University of Cambridge Society of Serbia, and future students.
