The PEXIM Foundation held its first in-person gathering of alumni after the coronavirus breakout. The gathering took place in Kosmaj, a mountain located about 50 kilometres from Belgrade, known for its beautiful vegetation and fresh air. The day started with our first Hike and Clean Up initiative and continued with a relaxing afternoon at the Kabinet Brewery’s outdoor bar until sunset.
Under normal circumstances, this May would have marked the tenth edition of the traditional Annual PEXIM-BSCC Cambridge Dinner. However, in the time when countries are still fighting the pandemic with restrictions on travel and large gatherings, we have traded the English lawn of Trinity College and elegant suits for a natural landscape and casual outfits.
Joined by the team spirit, our board members and alumni kicked off the day with a hiking spree along Kosmaj mountain’s circular trail. While enjoining various sightseeing attractions during the walk, our team rolled up their sleeves and collected trash they found along the way. Commitment to sustainability is deeply rooted in the PEXIM Foundation’s mission and we hope this initiative will inspire others to pay their deed to mother nature on their next hike by helping keep it clean.
Following the hike, our team had a well-deserved rest at the famous craft brewery Kabinet. We spent the rest of the beautiful sunny day catching up with each other over a glass of beer, table tennis and football.
We believe that nature gatherings are a perfect way to keep people connected during the pandemic, something that we at PEXIM cherish, and are hoping that our initiative will inspire others to organise similar events. All you need is a blanket and a good spirit.
