The PEXIM Foundation, in collaboration with Mokrin House and SPREMMA (Movement for Modern and Sustainable Education), organized a weekend long workshop for talented high school students seeking personal and professional growth, as well as opportunities to contribute to their communities.
The event was held at Mokrin House, a coworking and coliving space in northern Serbia. In recent years, this innovative space has become a hub for young professionals to connect and work on their projects in recent years. The co-owner of this fantastic project shared the vision and story of Mokrin house with the group, as well as lessons from his life and career.
We conducted mentorship workshops, exchanged ideas, support, and contacts, and shared insights from working in different industries during these two days. Additionally, we organized a roundtable discussing support they need while studying.
PEXIM Foundation was represented by its Executive Director, Dusan Savic, and its Mentorship Director, Tijana Gajic, who led workshops on personal and professional growth, as well as shared their experiences with their younger peers.
We relaxed together in the evening over games aimed at connecting and getting to know one another better.
Many participants shared that these types of talks and workshops had a great impact on them, were inspirational and supportive, and gave them insights into the opportunities around and ahead of them.
School kids selected to participate in this weekend of inspiration were the finalists of a case study competition on reviving the Serbian village sustainably, organized by The Movement for Modern Entrepreneurial Education, SPREMMA Pokret. The two days included further discussions of their ideas.
We were grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such wonderful initiative and enjoyed spending time with brilliant and kind kids we met over the weekend.
